We are an independent global grant-making Foundation. Our goal is to transform lives and unlock human potential by creating inclusive communities. We work with partners from across the world in three programme areas.
We believe a child’s ability and not their starting point in life should determine their destiny. In the UK, we seek to support projects which identify the current barriers to social mobility, increase educational opportunities and improve employment prospects. We also know parental involvement plays an important role in a child’s aspiration, so our projects seek to help families better engage with educational institutions. Our goal is to ensure disadvantaged young people have an equal opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Studies show societies with greater religious freedom are more stable, democratic and prosperous. By collaborating with project providers, we seek to better understand the root causes of conflict, build partnerships for dialogue and advance the peacebuilding role of faith communities. We are not a religious organisation and approach our programmes from a practical and pragmatic platform. We explore faith as a driver for sustainable social change, a vehicle for women’s rights or a means to counter intolerance.
At every level, women and girls have access to fewer resources, opportunities and political power than men. They face abuse, discrimination and harassment. This must change. By identifying innovative projects, we seek to challenge societal norms, break down barriers and address inequalities. We recognise that countries have stronger economies and securer democracies when women have a voice and equal rights. Our goal is to ensure women and girls worldwide have equal access to education, employment and the decisions that affect their future.
